KUALA TERENGGANU

After the submission of PROJECT 2, we are going to have an academic visit at PANTAI BATU BUROK, KUALA TERENGGANU which is a studio trip. Feel so nice, it's the time for us to release our tension by putting everything aside mainly forget about studio project and other subjects' assignments.
Here we go for my journey...

Having dinner with all friends.
(I'll always remember here because the waiter
kept forgetting my order and I had to keep reminding him. So bad~)

Went to TURTLE STREET and had a story telling by reading the story on the wall. Well, we really have to conserve and preserve the life of turtle to prevent extinction. From there, we could have known a few species of turtle, with all the specific name, totally new for me. If I still continue in Biology field study, they might be quite useful.

We did the silly thing here. Yes, it is the bridge and I have forgotten what's the name. Actually, the bridge is partially being supported. And what we these university students did was we kept jumping on the bridge to cause a slight vibration. Well, I can feel the vibration, somehow it seems like going to collapse. Surely, the people around have been frightened by our acts and left the bridge one by one. And some of them are couples. How bad we are, we spoiled their sweet dating.

Here it is---the bridge

JUMP! JUMP! JUMP!

Outdoor sketching

This museum is very large.

PANTAI BATU BUROK. Enjoy the strong wind blowing and the sound of ocean, even the movement of the sea water, it is quite different if compared to Penang. The sea water in Penang is just a calm and smooth beating movement. But here, strong beating of the ocean, it seems like tsunami is going to happen.

Having night dinner buffet

It is a very nice location to enjoy holidays here. I like this place very much.
What if I'm able to own myself this such place, it would be quite enjoyable.

The ComforTABLE CHAIR

After rest for a while (actually the project has been issued on the day of submission of previous project, it's just myself don't want to start the work and keep delaying---LAZY), the war starts again. The war is all about how do u fight against unhealthy lifestyle such as late to sleep or even no sleep for whole night and without a good meal.

Firstly, here comes the design and its concept.

I plan to design it to be a multi-functional chair
which can be flipped over here and there.

After some brainstorming, I decide to design my chair
which can be separated in several ways
to perform other function.

Originally, it is just a simple design but then I am not so satisfied on it and keep modifying it. At last, its form and shape comes from a ferry.

While designing the chair, as a designer, we should consider
that the design meets the ergonomic requirement.

Here are some photo shooting of the presentation board.

The chair actually can be separated into part by part, then join again to form another functional chair.

Finally, here it is.

Well firstly, my life now has totally been changed. I have no weekdays and weekends, as working day and night, no much rest. I don't even have a proper Sunday for me to enjoy doing whatever I want. Watching movie? Singing in Redbox? Eating my favourite food? Nothing at all. Sleeping is very precious for me now, even a 15 minutes or 30 minutes nap is enough also for continuing the rest of the work. I know it is quite tough for me but it is my choice that I made. No REGRET. Indeed, I enjoy it. What's your life? Do you have a better lifestyle now? Hopefully it is :-)

Keep it up, JW.

IDEAS

This is the first project for this second semester. Well, I have no worry for this project as I believe that I can do well. I had been assigned to design a poster that portray the fusion of George Town's built environment such as east & west architectural styles; traditional, colonial & modern buildings; multi-cultural lifestyles etc.

Yes, we have to do a self visit to George Town in our own to take the photos of the built environment exist in George Town.

Cheah Kongsi
Its building design has the combination of Malays, Indian and Chinese styles.

Here shows some sketches,

The final draft for my poster.

After started drawing into the cartridge paper, I have another idea for my draft.
Finally, it comes to this.

I did very detail for this dragon because it shows
the Chinese traditional.

The title of the poster 'THE FUSION GEORGE TOWN'

Truthfully, I just started to colour before the day of submission and it was quite rush for me. I coloured until the next morning at around 6.30am. Many of my friends requested me to teach them using watercolour. To be honest, I was still willing to teach them although I hadn't started my work because I like to share my skills with my friends.
Cheer up, JW. For the following project. I believe I can do even better :-)
